Marketing & Communications Assistant

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that brings people together to create premier events and entertainment celebrating the New Year. The Tournament of Roses enriches the lives of the many people and organizations it touches by providing satisfying, meaningful and rewarding experiences. 


  •  Provide administrative support to the Marketing & Communications department
  • Coordinate meetings and schedules
  • Coordinate project timelines
  • Support the development and execution of marketing materials, creative briefs, promotional projects and brand strategies
  • Respond to public inquiries about events and opportunities
  • Track invoices and expenses
  • Maintain historical libraries and data
  • Support inquiries for educational, historical and media information


  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years progressively more responsible experience in a marketing, communications or public relations administrative function. 
  • Must possess innovative skills, be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative. Must possess good interpersonal skills and have a team player attitude.
  • Ability to maintain constant attention to detail; to organize and prioritize work; and perform under deadline pressures and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to learn and apply operating procedures; and to work independently while being able to identify situations which require the attention of leadership.
  • Ability to communicate information about the Tournament in a positive way; to maintain awareness of the public relations impact of interaction with a wide variety of persons who call or are referred to the marketing and communications office; to maintain confidentiality and discretion in the communication of sensitive information; and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
