PASADENA, Calif. (July 24, 2013) – Pasadena Tournament of Roses® President R. Scott Jenkins has announced the 16 outstanding equestrian units that will participate in the 125th Rose Parade® presented by Honda, themed “Dreams Come True.”

The 16 groups selected are (listed alphabetically by group):

  • Budweiser Clydesdales, Marshal: Doug Bousselot
  • Calizona Appaloosa Horse Club, Marshal: Leslie Foxvog
  • Hermanos Bañuelos Charro Team, Marshal: Ramon Bañuelos
  • Los Angeles Police Metropolitan Division Mounted Platoon/Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Mounted Enforcement Detail, Marshal: Michael Porter
  • The Martinez Family, Marshal: Benny Martinez
  • Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Marshal: Dave Manuel
  • The New Buffalo Soldiers, Marshal: C.F. Brown
  • The Norco Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team, Marshal: Mychon Bowen
  • Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry, Marshal: Teressa Kandianis
  • Scripps Miramar Saddlebreds, Marshal: Michele Macfarlane

Equestrian units are selected to showcase a variety of breeds as well as impressive and unique tack and costumes. All riders must have previous parade riding experience. In addition to riding in the 5 1/2 mile long Rose Parade on New Year’s Day, equestrian units will participate in Equestfest, which will take place December 29, 2013, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. There, groups perform trick riding, drills, dancing and roping skills and attendees can walk through the stables and speak with the riders.
