PASADENA, Calif. – The No. 2 CFP-ranked Oregon Ducks, champions of the Pac-12 Conference, and the No. 3 CFP-ranked Florida State Seminoles, champions of the ACC Conference, have earned berths to play in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual at 1:30 p.m. PT (4:30 p.m. ET), Thursday, January 1, 2015, at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

“The Tournament of Roses is pleased to host Oregon and Florida State at this year’s Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game,” said Tournament of Roses President Rich Chinen. “We look forward to an exciting matchup in Pasadena on New Year’s Day as these two teams compete in the Granddaddy of Them All for a spot in the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship."

Oregon finished the year with a 12-1 overall record (8-1 in conference). The Ducks return to the Rose Bowl Game for their seventh appearance all-time; the last taking place in 2012. Oregon is 2-4 overall in its Rose Bowl Game appearances.

Florida State closed out the regular season at 13-0, (8-0 in conference) and will be appearing in the Rose Bowl Game for the first time in history. The Seminoles have a 1-0 at Rose Bowl Stadium, having won the BCS National Championship in 2014.

The 101st Rose Bowl Game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Ducks and the Seminoles. The winner of the Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game will earn a spot in the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship, which will take place on January 12, 2015 in North Texas.

Pre-game festivities on January 1, will begin at 1:30 p.m. PT (4:30 p.m. ET). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Heather Cox calling the action. Additional tickets for the Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual will go on sale this Tuesday, December 9 at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET. Tickets will be available online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-653-8000.

A maximum of four tickets per person will be available during the Rose Bowl Game pre-sale. Individual ticket prices start at $150 plus Ticketmaster handling fees. Oregon will stand on the west sideline and Florida State on the east sideline.
