Throughout the 2017 college football season, the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Bowl Game Football Committee will select players from each partner conference as the Big Ten and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

For their outstanding performances in week two, Minnesota running back Shannon Brooks and UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen were selected by the 17-person committee.

- Scored three touchdowns on the ground in a 48-14 win over Oregon State
- Gained 91 yards on the ground on 17 carries, good for a 5.4 yard average 
- Added one catch for five yards and a pair of kickoff returns for 40 yards, totaling 136 all-purpose yards on the day
- This is Brooks’ and Minnesota’s first Rose Bowl Game Player of the Week award this season.

 

 

 

 

 

Pac-12 Player of the Week
Josh Rosen, UCLA QuarterbackJosh Rosen, UCLA
Jr., QB, Manhattan Beach, Calif.

- Threw a career-high five touchdown passes in a 56-23 win over Hawai’i
- Surpassed 300 yards (329) for the second straight game to start the season
- Broke the record for 300 yard passing games with 12, passing former Bruin Cade McNown
- This is Rosen’s third career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and second this season
