Underdog Stanford surprises Nebraska by unveiling new wide-open offense, coined "T-formation," to win the 27th Rose Bowl Game, 21-13.

The Rose Parade celebrates on a smaller scale due to World War II. Duke vs. Oregon State Rose Bowl Game is played at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
