1946
World War II is over and the Rose Parade celebrates in grand style. Groundbreaking Rose Bowl Game agreement signed between Pacific Coast (Pac-10) and Western (Big Ten) conferences. Modified in 1960, it is the oldest college football agreement between two major conferences in the United States.

1947
First local telecast of the Rose Parade on W6XYZ, an experimental TV station that became KTLA three weeks later. Bill Welsh announces his first Rose Parade for the station a year later.
