Though its fame is worldwide, the Tournament of Roses remains true to its hometown origins. In 1983, the Association created the Tournament of Roses Foundation, a non-profit corporation, to receive contributions from members, friends and supporters. The Foundation makes annual grants to activities which enhance the traditions of the Tournament of Roses and to worthwhile programs which contribute to the civic, cultural and educational advancement of the Pasadena area.

Economically, the region derives immense benefit from the annual undertaking. While no taxpayer dollars subsidize the Tournament of Roses events, the Association is the only festival of its kind which is completely self-supporting and then shares its revenues with its host city. Economic impact - as a result of the New Year festivities - is estimated to provide an annual benefit of more than l00 million dollars to area businesses, including hotels, restaurants and retail stores.
Financial contributions to the Tournament of Roses Foundation are tax-deductible and can be mailed to: Tournament of Roses Foundation, PO Box 91184, Pasadena, CA 91184.
