TOURNAMENT OF ROSES® FOUNDATION NAMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Maxine Harris and Lance Tibbet Elected to the 2012-2013 Foundation Board
PASADENA, Calif. (August 6, 2012) – Jacqueline Howard, president of the Tournament of Roses® Foundation, announced the election of Maxine Harris and Lance Tibbet to the Foundation’s board of directors. These new members replace outgoing board
members Wellington Chen and Ira C. “Mike” Matthiessen, who provided a combined 10 years of outstanding service, vision and leadership to the Foundation board.
Maxine Harris is a long time resident of Pasadena. She arrived in California from the East Coast more than 25 years ago. Professionally, Harris is a vice president and senior trust officer with Bank of the West in its Wealth Management Group.
In this capacity, she is responsible for managing personal trusts and estates, investment management and charitable agency accounts for high net worth individuals, families and entities. She currently serves on the boards of Union Station Homeless Services,
Friends of the Levitt Pavilion, Red Cross and the Organization of Women Executives. Pasadena is also the home to Maxine’s two daughters, their husbands and two granddaughters, who are students at La Canada High School.
Lance M. Tibbet, a Tournament volunteer since 1980, is also a member of the Tournament of Roses Association’s Executive Committee. He will serve as the Tournament’s President in 2018 providing leadership for the 129th Rose Parade and
104th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2018. Tibbet serves as the current chair of the Tournament’s Audit committee and vice chair of the Business Development committee. He has also chaired the Parade Operations, Post Parade and, Queen& Court committees.
Professionally, Tibbet is the operations manager at Magic Growers, Inc. a wholesale nursery located in Pasadena specializing in growing Mediterranean and California appropriate plants for the professional retail nursery and landscape trades. In addition
to his 32 years of service in the Tournament of Roses, Tibbet is a board member of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives) and the USS Pasadena (SSN 752) Foundation. He previously served as president
of the Pasadena Optimist Club, president of the Nursery Growers Association of California (NGA), and a member of the NGA’s Water Issues and Political Action committees. He also has been active in Scouting in Pasadena via a variety of leadership roles at both
the Cub Scout and Boy Scout level. He and his wife reside in Pasadena and have two adult children.
In addition, the following Tournament of Roses Foundation board members were elected to serve as officers on the board: Katherine Martinez Kleine, vice president; Ciran Hadjian, treasurer; and Nancy Neal Davis, secretary. Members continuing to serve on
the Foundation Board are Leonora Barrón, Dave Davis, Mike Hagedorn, Darryl Hallie, Tahra Goraya, Brad Ratliff and Mike Ward.
Established in 1983, the Foundation is a tax exempt, non-profit public benefit corporation established to receive and manage contributions from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, its supporters and the general public. The Foundation supports charities
in the Pasadena area by funding sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and volunteer motivation and leadership development. The thirteen member board of directors is comprised of community leaders and Tournament members, appointed by the Pasadena

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is a volunteer organization that annually hosts the Rose Parade® presented by Honda, Rose Bowl Game® presented by VIZIO and various associated events. The 124th Rose Parade presented by Honda,
