UNIFORM: Creme shako with gold triangle emblem, 12 inch creme plume, dark forrest green pants, creme modern cadet style jacket with green back and green sleeve. Frank Lloyd Wright inspired triangle design with orange "S" that is Frank Lloyd Wright inspired. Jacket has one creme sleeve and one green sleeve. Matching sleeve colored gantlets with FLW inspired design braiding. Black shoes.

BAND DESCRIPTION: 160 total, 2 drum majors, 50 brass, 26 percussion, 50 woodwinds, 2 banner carriers, 30 color guards, 8 staff members.
The Seminole Warhawk Marching Band has a 49 year tradition of excellence including past decades awards of multiple Festival of States - Florida Representative, Virginia Beach National Marching Band Festival Grand Champions (1978), a half-time performance for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, multiple championships at the Largo Golden Invitational, Florida Tournament of Bands, and over 35 years of superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association Marching Festivals. In addition, the Warhawk Band was a national finalist band at the Marching Bands of America competition in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Seminole High School Warhawk Band Program includes the following ensembles/groups: Seminole Warhawk Marching Band - comprised of woodwinds, brass, percussion and color guard; Wind Ensemble - Advanced concert band; Symphonic Band - intermediate concert band; Jazz Ensemble 1 "Green Band" - Advanced level jazz band; Jazz Ensemble 2 "Orange Band" - intermediate level jazz band; Winter Color Guard - Indoor color guard (Scholastic World Class, the highest classification a school winter guard can have. There are only 30 nation wide); Indoor Percussion Ensemble - Marching indoor percussion group; Concert Percussion Ensemble; and Chamber Winds.

First high school band in the Tampa Bay area.

WINTER COLOR GUARD 2012 Florida Federation of Color Guards Circuit Championships- Scholastic World Class - Gold Medalist - 1st place Winter Guard International World Championships - Dayton, Ohio - University of Dayton Arena - Scholastic World Class - Finalist - 5th place out of 15 finalists. INDOOR PERCUSSION 2012 Florida Federation of Color Guards Circuit Championships- Scholastic A Class - Gold Medalist - 1st place Winter Guard International World Championships - Dayton, Ohio - University of Dayton - Scholastic Marching A Class - Finalist - 5th place out of 15 finalists. First time competing at the event and made finals.
In 2005 the Seminole Band marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, in 2007 they appeared in the Disney Christmas Day Parade, and in 2010 the band performed for the first time in Pinellas County history in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Warhawk Band will be returning to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in 2013! Recently, within the last seveteen years the Warhawk Band has been a TWENTY FIVE time Bands of America Regional Finalist, a two time Atlanta Regional Grand Champion, a seven time Semi-Finalist Grand Nationals Band, and a two time Grand Nationals Finalist Band. Regional finals performances have been in Atlanta, Orlando, Tennessee, Daytona Beach, St. Petersburg and Las Vegas. Years of participation were 1991 - 1995, 1997 - 2009, and 2011. In 1996 the Warhawk Band was the National AA-division champion at the W.G.I. Friendship Cup Championships in St. Louis, MO.
Recently, the Seminole HS Marching Band was the 2011 FMBC Class 4A State Champion held at Tropicana FIeld! Locally, the marching band has been a multiple grand champion at the famous Largo Golden Invitational and recently was the grand champion at the Largo GI for 2006 through 2010 The Warhawk band has won the Grand Championship since 1999 at the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Music Festival and in addition has won Outstanding Brass, Woodwinds, Color Guard, General Effect, Visual, and Music. Furthermore, the band has received straight superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association District Marching Festival for the past 35 years! In addition the Seminole HS Band has won 1st place and the Mayor's Cup at the Pinellas Park Christmas Parade 17 times out of the last 19 years! Caption Awards at BOA, WGI,and local events have included -outstanding visual, music, general effect, high percussion, brass, woodwinds, drum major and color guard.
The Warhawk Band has performed for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Baseball Team, The Seminole Pow Wow Parade, Festival of States Host Band, and local events within the Tampa Bay area. The Seminole High School Warhawk Marching Band was the FIRST band in the state of Florida to receive the prestigious Sudler Shield Award from the John Philip Sousa Foundation in 2003-2004 for outstanding excellence at the international level. There are only two bands in the state with this distinction.

We will be celebrating the school's 50th anniversary this coming 2012 fall semester! Seminole High School was built in 1962 approximately two miles from the gulf beaches and is located in a community that is mostly compromised of residential single-family homes. Seminole has a student body of 2,090 with a faculty of 94 members. Seminole High School is made up of one part of an educational park with the middle school, elementary school and vocational education school located within walking distance of the high school.
The student body is comprised of 9th-12th grade levels with a wide variety of course offerings and extracurricular activities, clubs and sports to participate in. SHS has over 170 students in National Honor Society Seminole High School is known for it's nationally recognized swim (Olympic Athletes), baseball, soccer, tennis, softball, and golf teams. Recently, Seminole High School started the CEL Program - an academy for Center for Education and Leadership. The visual arts, science, computer/business and performing arts departments all offer courses that make Seminole a unique "state of the arts" high school. Past student alumni include athletes that have played or participated in the Olympic Summer Games, NFL,PGA, NASL, MLB, and various universities. The high school has won the Superintendent's Trophy for All Sports/Academics over 12 times within the last 20 years.
Former performing arts department students are now studio musicians, film score composers, professional musicians, record company signed performers, college professors, multimedia software designers, Broadway performers, etc. Many students are involved with community service-volunteer organizations, foreign language honor societies, vocational-ed farming organizations and many school/community and many other school/community involved events and clubs. The SHS Band Program has had within the last decade a record number of Eagle Scouts from the Boy Scouts of America involved in it. Recently the Warhawk Band Program had both the valedictorian and salutatorian of the class of 2012. Seminole High School has been characterized in the state as your "All American High School."

PREVIOUS APPEARANCES IN THE ROSE PARADE: 2005 - Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade was the first appearance of the Seminole Warhawk Band. It also was the first appearance of a high school marching band in the Tournament of Roses from the Tampa Bay area of the tri-county area of Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Warhawk Band has performed original music in both the 2005 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the 2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Kiwanis Club of Seminole has been an ardent and strong supporter of the Seminole High School Warhawk Band Program. In all of our major parade (Tournament of Roses 2005, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2010, and Tournament of Roses 2013) and performance trips and drives they have been the largest community supporter of our efforts. This year the Kiwanis held a car drawing for a 2012 Mini Cooper Baker Street Limited Edition car for the benefit of the band's trip to the 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. We have held fundraisers with Harlem Globetrotter Alumni, family nights at various game centers,restaurants, etc. Our postcard mailer fundraiser has brought in thousands from friends, alumni, and relatives from all over the country. Our band booster parents work at our large scale concession stant at ALL 81 home games of the Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball team at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. This is one of our biggest resources of fundraising. In addition, this coming October 6th marks the 36th year of hosting and running our Seminole Sound Spectacular Marching Band Festival. The Seminole Sound Spectacular is one of the longest running marching band festivals in the Southeastern United States.
