UNIFORM: Military-style band uniforms with red jackets and white pants; red shakos with white plumes.

BAND DESCRIPTION: 1 drum major, 94 brass, 31 percussion, 61 woodwinds, 4 banner carriers, 29 color guards, 11 majorettes.

Pasadena City College is now in its 88th year of existence. With over 25,000 students enrolled, PCC is one of the largest and most distinguished community colleges in the country. Students representing over 70 high school band programs from all over Southern California are participating in this year's honor band. 150 High school students selected from 450 applicants are marching in this year's honor band along with the current PCC college Lancer Band members.

The Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band is the "OFFICIAL" band of the Tournament of Roses and has appeared in every Rose Parade since 1930.

PREVIOUS APPEARANCES: 2013 marks the band's 84th consecutive appearance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The PCC Honor Band performs all custom arrangments. The 2013 Musical Selections related to the parade theme include "Defying Gravity/Somewhere Over the Rainbow", A Beatles Medley including "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Got to Get You Into My Life" celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first Beatles' album release, "Everything's Coming Up Roses" (Band's Theme Song), and John Philip Sousa's "From Maine to Oregon" (march). Members of the Lancer Band/Honor Band can be seen in Mariah Carey's "Up Out My Face" music video and commercials for ESPN 3D and Radio Shack. Famous alumni of PCC include Jackie Robinson and rock guitarist, Eddie Van Halen.
