UNIFORM: Head majorette-Gold Lame with white fringe wearing full Indian Headress. Field Commander-Red pants and blue white and red jacket. Majorettes-blue with white fringe. Mohiganettes-red with white fringe. Musicians-Blue pants with red and white side stripes, white jackets with white overlay, red and blue stripes with the State of West Virginia outlined. Blue hat trimmed in white and white plume.

BAND DESCRIPTION: 270 total, 2 leaders, 2 drum majors, 95 brass, 28 percussion, 26 dancers, 105 woodwinds, 2 banner carriers, 8 others including the band director, staff director, assistant director, choreographer, percussion instructor, instrument specialist, band parent president and band treasurer.
The band is made up of six separate bands including 1) Marching Band, 2) Concert Band, 3) Symphonic Band, 4) Wind Ensemble, 5) Jazz Ensemble and 6) Percussion Ensemble.
The Band has a great tradition of excellence. They have been in existence for more than 80 years and have had only 6 directors. Mr. Reed has served as Director for the past 33 years. They participated in the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, the 2009 Disney World Magic Music Days Parade and My Macy's Christmas Parade in Pittsburgh, PA in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. They received more than 42 years of superior ratings at the West Virginia Regional Festival and were named the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Honor Band in 2008.

PREVIOUS APPEARANCES: 2013 marks the first time this band is participating in the Rose Parade.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The arrangement of Country Roads was penned by a former band members grandfather, Dr.James Miltenberger. Fundraising came from various sources including the Alumni Class Challenges, Elimination Dinner, Golf Tournament, and Longaberger Basket Bingo. The class of 1944 donated their accured funds after their final reunion to assist students. A former band member's Dads last wish was to send donations to the bands travel fund in leiu of flowers, in his memory. Notable alumni include actors Don Knotts, David Selby, Metropolitan Opera Singer Linda Phillips, Congressional Medal of Honor Winner Corporal Thomas Bennett, former Air Force One Pilot Colonel Ralph Albertazzie, Assistant Commandant USMC General Earl Anderson, former President of MIT Charles Vest, Film Director and Screen Writer Lawrence Kasdan and Producer / writer Thomas Canning.
